An emerging coalition for supporting community-led, all-encompassing change
Full Spectrum is a coalition of leaders and organizations calling for a foundational change in how communities are engaged. Instead of remaining rooted in the current model, which is too often sector-specific and top-down, we have found that by working within and across sectors and beyond silos, community-led, sustainable, multidimensional change can take place—for people and for the planet.
This is not a new idea. What is perhaps new—and urgent—is centering the role that community-centered, holistic processes must play at the heart of how we support and engage with communities.
Prioritizing the full spectrum of community resources, needs and opportunities makes a huge contribution to both grassroots leaders and communities and the global communities working to support them.

We know the current systems don’t make it easy for communities or their partners to engage in a holistic way. And we don’t expect everyone who joins to be practicing a completely holistic model.
Our vision in welcoming Allies is to work together towards systems and partnerships that lead to the wide-spread adoption of Full Spectrum approaches. Allies are anyone with perspectives across the wide range of actors who join at multiple points in a holistic, community-led journey.
From the beginning, this collaboration has been deeply connected to “sibling” movements focused on community-led development, shifting power, and localization, to name a few. In exploring this coalition, we seek to complement the momentum in these areas. We are encouraged to see our members active in many other movements, coalitions, and networks, and we are equally excited to see interest from many leading groups in our work. We are in this together.
