Full Spectrum
An emerging coalition for supporting community-led,
all-encompassing change
Full Spectrum is an emerging coalition of experienced organizations that are calling for the mainstreaming of an important, transformative approach for communities: working within and across sectors and beyond silos to support sustainable, multidimensional, community-driven change.
This is, of course, not a new idea. What is perhaps new—and what we certainly feel urgency around—is focusing on the role that community-centered, holistic processes can and do play at the heart of how we support and engage with communities.
We feel that such ways of working—where the full spectrum of community resources, needs and opportunities are welcomed—can make a huge contribution to both grassroots leaders and communities and the global communities working to support them.
And we feel that these ways of working should be mainstreamed so that communities are more fully supported in their journeys—all the time.
Our journey:
Building on a series of informal conversations and formal convenings in 2022-23, we created a shared vision and framework and launched our coalition in January 2024.

We are an action-oriented coalition, and our initial focus is on what we see as a critical area: Evidence and Learning. In 2025 we’re advancing a shared, multi-organizational study while building tools and resources that can benefit the sector.

From the beginning, this collaboration has been deeply connected to “sibling” movements focused on community-led change, shifting power, and localizing “development.” In exploring this coalition, we seek to compliment the momentum in these areas.
We welcome the interest and engagement of all who want to contact us: existing practitioners, those curious about adapting new practices into their models, researchers, funders, and partners and allies around proven approaches to elevating community-led, all-encompassing change.
